Easy Sweet and Sour Recipe from BBC Good Food

With our oven broken, I've had to rely on our hob. Having exhausted my little repetoire of hob-only recipes I hit the BBC Good Food Website seeking more recipes that didn't need an oven. I did rather well and impressed my family with numerous new recipes.

The Sweet and Sour Chicken pictured above was delicious. The recipe was for microwave cooking, but I adapted it. It really was easy to make and so tasty. I will never buy a jar of sweet and sour sauce again!

Bespoke Birthstone Jewellery - a cascade of sparkles

Today I'm pleased to share with you a bespoke birthstone jewellery commission. It's a design that was completed a little while ago, but I've held back from sharing it until the recipient had been given her special sparkles.
 
A loyal customer of mine wanted me to create a special design for her mum's birthday incoporating the birthstones of her five grandchildren. Working together we settled upon the Cascade design as the basis and worked the five birthstones into this design. Within the design there is Crystal for April (twice, representing the latest arrival of twin babies), peridot for August, Sapphire for September and Emerald for May, complimented beautifully with Freshwater pearls and sterling silver. It's always great when the selection of birthstones within a design work well together and this works so well with the blues and greens.

I love how this is both a pretty and wearable design, but also sentimental with it's birthstones.

I've seen some photographs of the birthday girl wearing her new sparkles and I'm so pleased to see that they look so beautiful on their new owner.
