Face of Poppy Sparkles Mummy Necklace Photoshoot results by Marie Donn Photograph

Today I'd like to welcome Marie of Marie Donn Photography onto the blog to share with you the results of the 'Face of Poppy Sparkles Mummy Necklace' photoshoot. I can't thank Marie enough for the support she gives me and Poppy Sparkles and, of course, the lovely images she provides. Sadly I wasn't able to attend the photoshoot, so here is Marie to tell us a little about that day.

Having an idea in your head is one thing. Seeing it take shape another. But holding it in your hand is the absolute best feeling, in the world. EVER.

That’s why I do what I do, because capturing moments makes me happy – planning details for shoots with my customers, finding the perfect locations, quietly packing my bags in the still of the morning before setting out to capture the best of the day. But nothing compares to when I see my prints, my products hanging on someone’s wall, books being leafed through, and the images I captured generally adored. I think that’s why I and Viv from PoppySparkles are kindred spirits in that respect, and it’s such an honour to capture the joy her jewellery brings out in the real world, with owners who enjoy them and, in the case of Mummy necklaces in particular, with families who appreciate the journey they celebrate.

I was gifted my own bespoke mummy necklace last year and the very best way I could thank Viv for their gorgeousness was to capture how entrancing they were, not just to me, but to my two children. You’ll have seen my images on the Poppy Sparkles website since then, so when we first chatted through the idea of bringing another new face in via our recent photoshoot competition to find the face of Mummy Necklaces, I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to help capture the beauty of these pieces once again.

Meeting Kelly, the competition-winner, and her family was so much fun – despite it being a blustery day near Brentwood in Essex little Amelia was a trooper and she was transfixed by her mummy’s new sparkles! Kelly and Thomas didn’t seem to stop smiling or laughing throughout the shoot, which has given me some of my very favourite images – and I know they love them too! Kelly’s necklace holds three stones, one each for her, her husband and the adorable little girl who seemed quite taken with my In The Night Garden singing.
Kelly and her beautiful family.
I’m so pleased the new images bring to life everything that’s gorgeous about the Poppy Sparkles range. Something that’s gorgeous on its own, made even more special with the meaning that comes with every personalisation and the detail of every unique piece. As you can see, it’s jewellery to make you smile, make you laugh, make you forget a little bit about the chill spring breeze when you’ve got your family around you.

As I said at the start, having an idea in your head is one thing. Seeing it take shape another. But holding it in your hand is the absolute best feeling, in the world. EVER. Whether it’s your family, your children, photography or gorgeous sparklies, it’s absolutely true. Enjoy the feeling!
