A little while ago I connected with Ces on Twitter and soon found out about The Light Direction - a series of short stories and a novel, written by Ces, and also being used to help promote a range of creative businesses. When I saw that Ces wanted jewellery designers to design bespoke pieces to be featured in the novel and also made available for purchase as official 'The Light Direction' merchandise I was keen to get involved. As an English Graduate and qualified English Teacher, it was a perfect opportunity to combine my love of all things sparkly with my love of literature.
Above is the necklace I designed for The Light Direction. I won't explain it further here, instead I'd be really grateful if you'd pop along to The Light Direction blog and read up there about me and my design. I'd be super grateful if you had time to post a little comment - I'd really love for my design to receive some love and be selected for inclusion in one The Light Direction stories.

Beakers and Bedtimes - unusual inspiration
I find inspiration in all sorts of places. Things I see during the day and my travels, sometimes I just sit and mess around with different beads and try different combinations of shapes and colours. Other times I like to virtual window shop and trawl Etsy, NOTHS, Folksy and other online marketplaces. And, it's not always jewellery that I turn to when I want some ideas - sometimes I just look at a range of items. Sometimes a combination of colours gives me an idea. Other times I think of the jewellery to compliment an item such as a dress or bag.
A few weeks ago as I settled my little girl to bed I was struck by the colours in her beaker (a top and bottom from two different beakers). Once she was fast asleep I went to make some jewellery and as I wondered what to put with a gorgeous sunshine coloured pumpkin shaped glass bead, the colours of the beaker came back to me. A slightly random bit of inspiration, but I love the result. Sadly this was a OOAK and has been rehomed, but for more sparkly lovelies checkout my website.

Perfect Wedding Press Feature
Thanks to Isa from Noisette Marketing (who spotted my necklace whilst looking up THREE of her clients who were featured) I found out that my Dove Charm Necklace was featured in Perfect Wedding Magazine. Big thank you to Isa for scanning the page for me too whilst I wait to get a pdf version for online sharing.
There is currently a number of designs on sale and the Dove Necklace is one of them. Stocks are limited on sale items, so if you spy something you like, best be quick! And, don't forget that all jewellery is now sent out in one of my new lovely jewellery boxes.
